I feel like there's an ancient proverb somewhere that talks about not sassing the hand that feeds you Space Chicken or something.

In this situation I think that sass works.

I wasn't worried, I have a bag full of tacos to protect myself with. [Holds his taco up like a shield.]

I'm not really sure how protected you'd be hiding behind cheap fast food.

Shield one second, [Flips it around in his hand and holds it like he would hold a batarang.] flying projectile the next.

[In response, she breaks off a small piece of her burrito and casually flings it at him.]

I think your plan needs work.

[allthesensors]

[Deflects it with his taco.] Are you sure about that?

[backwordscompatible]

[Sticks her tongue out at him, then hurls another piece for good measure.]

[Deflects it again and then he returns the favor by breaking off a piece of his taco, and flicking it at her.]

[She dodges easily enough, pretending to look offended.]

Hey, no fair. That thing's a hard shell!

My bad, that was out of line. [Scoots closer to her.] Anything I can do to make up for it?

[For a moment, she contemplates mentioning the glasses. But that was a hurdle to conquer when he was ready. So instead, she reverted back to her comfortable role of sarcasm and quip.]

I'm not sure.

It was pretty traumatizing, you know.

[Don't mind him as he scoots even closer and his hand brushes against hers on the counter.]

Sounds like it. I'll have to make sure it's something good then to help soothe your mind.

[Since she doesn't seem to mind, he covers a couple of her fingers with his own.]

I know this helped me when I was feeling confused and unsure about some stuff. [Leans in to kiss her on the cheek.]

[She closes her eyes as his lips press against her cheek, turning her palm upward to entwine their fingers together. Even as he pulls away, she can still feel a light tingling in the spot where he kissed her.]

You're right. It does help.

[So many feelings in this moment. The grin on his face turns into a sheepish grin and he lightly squeezes her hand.]

Awesome, I'll be sure to keep that in mind in case there are any other traumatic incidents with space food.

[Her expression is all but mirroring his at this point.]

[She allows the moment to linger just a little while longer before pulling back.]

I'll get the first movie started. You're in for a real treat this afternoon, Robin.

[The evening has already started off very nicely.]

[One last smiling glance, and she lightly hops to the ground, making her way over to the movie set. The one she wanted was conveniently right on top of the pile, so she set to work fiddling with the controls before popping the disk in.]

[How convenient indeed! Dick moves over to the couch and relaxes into it. Drapes his arm across the couch and stretches out some.]

Now the question is...do we want to watch the best first or save it for last? Since I was promised what sounded like a movie marathon.

[The opening credits to Star Wars: Episode Four appear on-screen. Satisfied with the surround sound audio quality, she stands up with an innocent smile.]

I did promise a marathon, didn't I?

Back to back to back of pure genius talking about three of the greatest sci-fi classics. And if we're feeling particularly masochistic after that, I also found the prequel trilogy.
