Yeah, sure, I've got some time. You want me to meet you somewhere, or do you want to come up here? No one else is around right now, so it's just me in the room.
[Of course, she forgets to specify which room, seeing as how she and the boys were already accustomed to the (unofficial) switch.]
[One of two faces she would respond to right then.]
[And the only reason it was two, and not three, was because she had been seeing to Wally in the room already. There was no reason for him to call her.]
I'm fine, M'gann. [Her words are cool and calm. Rehearsed. Like she was expecting this call, and mentally prepared herself to give her brosis as little reason to worry about her as possible.] What about you?
I know she's not around anymore, but I think it'd be a good idea to make sure that team idea Batgirl was putting together gets nice and organized. I missed out on the first get-together, and you're the only person on the club list I know how to get in contact with.
Things are still getting worse around here, and nobody seems to know why. I'm worried it's only a matter of time before something really bad happens. Either some new complication, or some of the anti-foreigner locals getting the bright idea it's a great excuse to turn the rest of the kedan against us. And considering the mess those specters caused, it's better to get organized sooner rather than later.
But I don't know where to start, because you're the only one still here that I recognize.
I'll be on this console for the next two hours. If I haven't heard back from you by then, I'll change consoles and try again later.
[...well, this was an unexpected surprised. It only takes her half an hour to check her messages and see the note. Twice over, to make sure she was reading it correctly.]
You know, I'm all for the Mystery Guy routine, but wouldn't something like this be better planned out face-to-face?
Hey, Zatanna! I got something to talk to you about. Give me a time and place? It's one of those times when a potentially tapped phonecall just isn't gonna cut it, you know?
((ooc: Al put Kon up to this, but if you don't want to add to tag mountain I can fill you in oocly! Let me know!))
[Kon tried calling Conner at the first hint of weirdness. When Conner didn't pick up, he tried again. And again. It was only when he realized that the call wasn't connecting, that he tried calling Robin to find out what was going on with Conner. And then Robin didn't pick up.
[She does pick up. But there is less panic on her end and more of a sense of...eerily calm. Despite the sounds of fighting going on around her. Like she were in denial of everything.]
[The line is clear. Kon doesn't wait to wonder why it's working now of all times, he's just grateful it is. Not that he's going to waste words. There's a lot he could say, a lot Zatanna'll be wondering about ever since Kon got back to himself and -- freaked out and disappeared on Jason, Zatanna and dude he made out with in a fit of ... even Kon's not sure whether that was panic, guilt or embarrassment. Man, does he have to pick just one?
Is it too much to hope that approximately five seconds in, I tripped on I dunno, a can of something, concussed myself and everything that followed was some messed up hallucination?
